Shine

I learned

I do not need you

to be complete

or to feel whole

For this light I found within me

Is guided by my soul

It was always there

buried away

Underneath layers of fears

And false beliefs

That have grown

throughout many years

Yet now I found that when I love myself

Nothing can hold me back

No fear can extinguish

this flame so bright

Not even your absence

dims this light

Thank you for being a mirror

and showing me where I needed to go

Now it’s your turn

to learn and to grow

And when your journey is over

Together we’ll shine

With our souls interlocked
